Agricultural Engineer, evokeAG

Indiana Rhind is an Agricultural Engineer, AgriFutures Horizon Scholar and 2025 evokeAG Groundbreaker Alumni, and a PhD Candidate at the University of Newcastle studying “Connecting a Disconnected Industry: How can schools, businesses, and the agriculture sector work together to improve connection to the agricultural industry?”.

Not from a farming background, Indiana’s passion for agriculture began through her high school farm program, which encouraged her to pursue a career in the sector and complete an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Engineering- Which, to the best of her knowledge, she was the only graduate of in Australia in 2022.

Her career journey and experience as a Horizon Scholar and Groundbreaker inspired her to support and champion agricultural education initiatives in schools, helping young people better understand and engage with the industry. Alongside her PhD research, Indiana continues her work as an engineer through her consultancy, Demeter Engineering.
